We’re Growing and Recruiting: Trust Officer

WAY Trustees Limited is small but mighty, progressive and growing firm, responsible for the management of millions of pounds worth of family wealth.

Due to ongoing business growth, we are recruiting two Trust Officers to the existing team that currently includes a Trust Operations Manager, Trainee Trust Manager and a Trust Officer. We are eager to “grow our own” so provide support and professional development training for all staff who wish to achieve relevant qualifications in our field which would positively impact the pay grade and also provide opportunities for promotion.

Job Title: Trust Officer
Reports To: Trainee Trust Operations Manager

Main Purpose of Role

To provide administration for the WAY Trustees Ltd range of trust products and WAY Trustees Limited’s trustee service.

Key Responsibilities

  • Be fully conversant and up-to-date with the operational aspects of WAY’s product packages and general trust administration requirements.
  • Ensure that WAY plans are administered correctly.
  • Process new plan applications, liaising with internal & external investment partners administering the underlying investments;
  • Provide ongoing support to customers and advisers throughout the lifetime of the plans;
  • Preparing accurate plan anniversary documentation within agreed timescales and distributing to customers and advisers;
  • Assist trustees and their advisers in fulfilling the ongoing responsibilities associated with the trusts by responding to telephone or email enquiries;
  • Processing returned anniversary documentation, instructing transactions at the appropriate times and monitoring progress to settlement; and
  • Updating plan database to reflect plan and investment transactions.

Management of designated caseload trusts where WAY Trustees are trustees:

  • Responsible for carrying out the function of trustee in making day to day decisions for the administration of non-Open Architecture plans; and
  • Assist Trust Operations Manager with administration of Open Architecture cases.

Co-ordination with other Functions:

  • Work closely with WAY’s Regional Sales Managers and Transfer Agency Team and external investment service providers; and
  • Follow processes and standards as agreed with other parts of the Group.
  • Training and support of junior team members.

 

Suitable candidates should have:

  • Previous experience in an administration role within the financial, legal or accountancy sectors – preferable but not essential
  • Excellent attention to detail and accuracy, essential;
  • Strong customer service ethos demonstrable customer service skills;
  • Excellent numeracy and literacy skills (including GCSE/GCE Maths and English at Grade C or above);
  • Good IT skills; particularly strong knowledge of Microsoft Office packages, specifically Microsoft Excel and Word;
  • Ability to communicate in a concise and professional manner both on the telephone and in writing;
  • Ability to problem solve and create more efficient working practices;
  • Demonstrates the ability to work both as part of a team and individually in order to juggle multiple tasks;
  • Demonstrates the ability to organise daily workloads to the maximum potential;
  • Be willing to work in other areas to support colleagues where the need arises;
  • Be flexible, adaptable and have a can-do attitude;
  • Demonstrates commitment to ongoing personal development of technical skills and knowledge
  • Has a desire to obtain professional qualifications

WAY Trustees Limited are recruiting this as a full-time permanent position, is office-based, working 9am to 5pm Monday to Friday.
